This photo was taken nearly before I finished and completed the drawing of a scaled in size and anatomically accurate alligator skull. Aesthetically I thought it would look great if I did a skull with tremendous detail but I wanted to do an animal that coincides with luxury brands. When I was a boy a few of my favorite toys and heros were toy soldiers. By far my favorite amongst the voriety of the little, plastic green men was the "Grenade Thrower". He had an elogant pose and form that I liked almost poetic looking while carrying two deadly weopons especially the explosive baseball like bomb in his hand. This photo was taken Day 3 after I finished a six hour long sketch session. At this stage of my work I start to get more excited about the piece itself and a feeling of early success. Aesthetically you can see the many values and layers of ink all being tedeously manipulated to appear blended and shaded in.
