When I was a boy a few of my favorite toys and heros were toy soldiers. By far my favorite amongst the voriety of the little, plastic green men was the "Grenade Thrower". He had an elogant pose and form that I liked almost poetic looking while carrying two deadly weopons especially the explosive baseball like bomb in his hand. Years later I still loved playing with these army men but more so just keeping a few on my desk. That is how I came up with the idea to draw this iconic toy for one of my pieces. Also it reminds me of my time at Army & Navy Academy bording school for sophmore year in Carlsbad, CA.
